Today I want to tell you about an equipment that I am falling in love with more and more every day, for its versatility and for the presence inside it of an element that makes it irreplaceable in your set of training tools: the Hydrocore bag Invented by Maurizio Tangari, one of the top trainers from San Diego and from all over the United States.

It is essentially a bag, indeed very reminiscent of the Bulgarian Bag, but unlike the latter it is not made of leather but of PVC, therefore empty inside and to be filled with water.

This bag has features that make it unique:

as we said, being empty inside, it can be easily folded and transported

the weight can vary depending on how much water we put in so as to adapt to our level of fitness

on the bag there are two handles and two small and resistant ropes at the ends to which two fairly rigid rubber balls are attached, which give us the possibility to perform various movements with different grips

the ropes and rubber balls can be separated from the bag and used for other activation exercises, mobility, motor repatterning, etc.

the presence of water forces us to continuously adapt the proprioceptive system, balance, the nervous system that learns to manage its dynamics

the presence of water, as taught by Blue Mind Science (the science that studies the effects of water on the human body) has numerous beneficial effects in terms of release of neurochemicals inside the brain that induce well-being, serenity, calm, improve blood flow to the heart and brain.

[It has been discovered that it is enough to be near water, listen to its sound, look at a photo to modify the brain neurochemistry n.d.A.]

And these are just some of the benefits you would get from using Hydrocore.

Speaking of functional training, one of my areas of choice, Hydrocore gives us the ability to perform rotational, explosive and ballistic movements, as well as motor repatterning techniques that challenge even the strongest bodybuilders.

Well what about, try it and let me know what you think!

Interesting. I have used a stability ball (from Weck) that has a larger than the usual filler hole. It came with sand in it, but I replaced that with water.

I love Weck Methods! I have been using his systems and mixing with Hydrocore. I hope I will see you at one of my Hydrocore workshops.
